At Montbelle we believe that all our children have a right to be heard and to be listened to. As part of that belief, our School Council maintains an important role in the life of our school.
The council itself is elected by the children, at the beginning of each school year, with each class from Year 1 to Year 6 electing a School Council representative. The School Council meet with Miss Helen Relf every week to work on a range of projects across the school year which benefit both the children in the school, our wider community, and charities in other countries.
This year school council has raised £431 for Children in Need by deciding to create Pudsey and Blush badges for the children to buy. Our next event was Christmas jumper day where the money raised nearly £180.
In 2016 for the whole year school council will be focusing on one main charity The London Air Ambulance, the children will decide how to raise money and choose events for the school to participate in, as well as raising not only their own awareness but the awareness of the school in the work that the London Air Ambulance do.
School council are fundraising for their charity of the year by placing an empty milk bottle in each class and asking for donations of coins (stirling only) to fill the milk bottles. The milk bottles will be in class from Monday until half term. School council have set themselves a target of £1000 to be raised throughout the year.
School council would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the milk bottle challenge, as a school we raised £147.02.
